ISO T50 LPG Tank Container — 25 000 L Ex-Fleet, In-Test
SKU MG-T50-25000X · Held at Johannesburg, Gauteng
An ex-fleet 20ft ISO T50 tank container built for liquefied petroleum gas service, offered in-test with current CSC plating and a written valve set report from our Johannesburg depot. The 25 000 litre carbon steel barrel sits in a standard 20ft ISO frame, so it handles, stacks and transports on ordinary container equipment and can be craned or tilt-bed delivered like any other 20ft unit. The valve pack includes liquid and vapour lines, pressure relief, a fixed maximum-level device and a contents gauge, with walkway and ladder access to the top fittings. Documentation, periodic inspection dates and pressure test history are supplied with the unit, and every tank leaves the yard purged and sealed. LPG is a controlled product in South Africa: filling, siting and operation must comply with SANS requirements and IMDG for movement, and buyers are responsible for holding the appropriate licences. Our team will talk through siting, bund and separation distances before you commit.

The shell is fabricated from Corten A weathering steel — a copper, chromium and nickel alloy that forms a tightly adherent oxide layer instead of the flaking scale you get on mild steel. That patina slows further corrosion, which is why a 25-year-old box can still be structurally sound while a painted mild-steel shed of the same age has perforated.
Side and end panels are 14-gauge (2.0mm) corrugated sheet welded to a rigid frame of rolled top and bottom rails with cast steel corner fittings on the ISO 1161 pattern. Roof panels are 2.0mm with an arch profile that shifts standing water toward the eaves. On tank units the pressure barrel is carbon steel, shot-blasted and finished with a solar-reflective topcoat to limit vapour pressure rise in direct sun.
Expect surface oxidation on used grades: it is cosmetic. We reject units with through-plate pitting, cracked welds at the corner posts, or bowed rails, because those defects affect stacking strength and cannot be repaired economically in the field.
