Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal information we collect when you request a quote, place an order or apply for financing, why we need it, and how long we keep it. It is written to meet the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Who is responsible for your information
MASILO GLOBAL CONTAINERS (PTY) LTD (Reg. 2026/395064/07) is the responsible party. Information officer enquiries: info@masilocontainers.shop, +27 73 473 3143, 3D Century Boulevard, Johannesburg, Gauteng 2191.
What we collect
- Contact and business details: name, company name, email address, telephone number.
- Delivery details: site address, postal code, access notes and the site-readiness confirmations you tick.
- Order and payment records: order numbers, amounts, payment method, proof-of-payment documents you upload, and the last four digits and expiry of a card presented for offline processing.
- Financing application data: residential address, employment and income details, and identity information required for an affordability assessment.
- Account data: your email address and authentication records if you create an account.
- Technical data: server logs and error reports generated when you use the site.
Why we process it
- To quote, invoice and fulfil your order, including booking transport and issuing release paperwork.
- To assess a financing application you choose to submit, and to pass it to a credit provider with your consent.
- To reconcile payments and meet our tax, accounting and record-keeping obligations.
- To respond to your enquiries and provide after-sales support.
- To keep the site secure and diagnose technical faults.
Sensitive information and encryption
Identity numbers submitted with a financing application are encrypted before they are stored: only the ciphertext and the last four digits are written to our database, and the decryption key is held in a private area that the website and its public interfaces cannot read. Decryption is restricted to a super-administrator acting on a specific application. Card numbers are never stored — only the cardholder name, expiry and last four digits needed to run and reconcile a terminal transaction.
Who we share it with
- Transport contractors, limited to the delivery address, contact number and access notes needed for the drop.
- Credit providers, only where you submit a financing application.
- Our banking partners for payment reconciliation.
- Cloud hosting and database providers that operate our website and store our records under contract.
- Regulators, SARS or law enforcement where we are legally required to disclose.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for third-party marketing.
Cross-border transfers
Our website and database are operated on cloud infrastructure that may process data outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on providers that offer protection substantially similar to POPIA and contractual safeguards on onward transfer.
How long we keep it
- Order, invoice and tax records: five years from the end of the relevant tax year, as required by law.
- Quotation and enquiry records: two years from last contact.
- Financing applications: five years from decision, then the encrypted identity data is destroyed.
- Server and error logs: 90 days.
Your rights
You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or withdraw consent for a financing application. Email info@masilocontainers.shop and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforeg@justice.gov.za.
Cookies and site storage
We use only the storage needed to run the site: a session record that keeps you signed in, and local browser storage that remembers the units in your basket. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Clearing your browser storage removes both.
