Compact LPG Tank Container — 10 000 L Refurbished

SKU MG-LPG-TC10KR · Held at Johannesburg, Gauteng

A refurbished 10 000 litre framed LPG tank container for buyers who want mobile bulk storage at the lowest capital cost and are relaxed about appearance. The unit was withdrawn from a distribution fleet, degassed and purged, inspected internally, thickness-tested and hydrostatically retested, with the valve group rebuilt and the excess-flow and relief valves replaced. Frame repairs were done where the saddles and lower rails had corroded, and the whole assembly was recoated by hand, so the finish shows roller texture, grinder marks, patch shading and surface staining around the saddle welds. Structurally the corner castings and lifting points were checked and the frame remains fit for handling by container lifter, spreader or rated forklift. Certification is current for static storage duty; if you need the unit to travel repeatedly as ISO freight, ask us to confirm the CSC examination date against your movement plan before you order. Tare mass is around 3 900 kg. Delivered empty, purged and gas-free from Johannesburg with the inspection and test paperwork; commissioning, filling and the certificate of compliance are completed by a registered LPG installer.

The shell is fabricated from Corten A weathering steel — a copper, chromium and nickel alloy that forms a tightly adherent oxide layer instead of the flaking scale you get on mild steel. That patina slows further corrosion, which is why a 25-year-old box can still be structurally sound while a painted mild-steel shed of the same age has perforated.

Side and end panels are 14-gauge (2.0mm) corrugated sheet welded to a rigid frame of rolled top and bottom rails with cast steel corner fittings on the ISO 1161 pattern. Roof panels are 2.0mm with an arch profile that shifts standing water toward the eaves. On tank units the pressure barrel is carbon steel, shot-blasted and finished with a solar-reflective topcoat to limit vapour pressure rise in direct sun.

Expect surface oxidation on used grades: it is cosmetic. We reject units with through-plate pitting, cracked welds at the corner posts, or bowed rails, because those defects affect stacking strength and cannot be repaired economically in the field.
