A 40ft open top container offered as-is for hard yard duty. The steelwork is sound and the box holds its shape, with roof bows and a tarpaulin fitted, but the paint is weathered and there are dents and surface rust from working service. Crane access over the full twelve-metre opening and a swing-out door header make it useful for long steel, scrap, rubble and machinery handling. Priced for buyers who need a working top-loader rather than cosmetic condition. Inspection at our Midrand depot is welcome.

The shell is fabricated from Corten A weathering steel — a copper, chromium and nickel alloy that forms a tightly adherent oxide layer instead of the flaking scale you get on mild steel. That patina slows further corrosion, which is why a 25-year-old box can still be structurally sound while a painted mild-steel shed of the same age has perforated.
Side and end panels are 14-gauge (2.0mm) corrugated sheet welded to a rigid frame of rolled top and bottom rails with cast steel corner fittings on the ISO 1161 pattern. Roof panels are 2.0mm with an arch profile that shifts standing water toward the eaves. Flooring is 28mm marine-grade plywood over steel cross-members on nominal 300mm centres, rated for a 7 260 kg forklift axle load.
Expect surface oxidation on used grades: it is cosmetic. We reject units with through-plate pitting, cracked welds at the corner posts, or bowed rails, because those defects affect stacking strength and cannot be repaired economically in the field.
