20ft Dry Container — One-Trip with Security Lockbox

A one-trip 20ft dry container released from our Johannesburg depot with a welded security lockbox already fitted over the right-hand door handle, so a puck lock can be closed on delivery day without a return visit from the fabrication shop. The unit has made a single loaded voyage from the factory, so the corrugation is straight, the marine plywood floor is unstained and the original factory enamel is intact apart from light handling marks around the corner castings. Internal dimensions are approximately 5.90 m long, 2.35 m wide and 2.39 m high, giving roughly 33 m3 of dry storage volume, and the cargo doors open to the full end aperture on four vertical locking bars with new gaskets. Both forklift pockets and all eight corner castings are sound, so the unit can be lifted, tilted or craned without preparation. Supplied on kilometre-rated freight anywhere in South Africa, or collected from the depot with your own rated equipment.

The shell is fabricated from Corten A weathering steel — a copper, chromium and nickel alloy that forms a tightly adherent oxide layer instead of the flaking scale you get on mild steel. That patina slows further corrosion, which is why a 25-year-old box can still be structurally sound while a painted mild-steel shed of the same age has perforated.
Side and end panels are 14-gauge (2.0mm) corrugated sheet welded to a rigid frame of rolled top and bottom rails with cast steel corner fittings on the ISO 1161 pattern. Roof panels are 2.0mm with an arch profile that shifts standing water toward the eaves. Flooring is 28mm marine-grade plywood over steel cross-members on nominal 300mm centres, rated for a 7 260 kg forklift axle load.
Expect surface oxidation on used grades: it is cosmetic. We reject units with through-plate pitting, cracked welds at the corner posts, or bowed rails, because those defects affect stacking strength and cannot be repaired economically in the field.
