10ft Dry Container — One-Trip with Passive Vent Pair

SKU MG-10DRY-OTV · Held at Johannesburg, Gauteng

A one-trip 10ft dry container with a pair of louvered wall vents and insect mesh fitted in our Johannesburg workshop before release, which keeps long-term storage air moving and reduces condensation on the inside of the roof panel. The short length suits tight sites, residential stands, plant rooms and secure tool stores where a 20ft unit simply cannot be placed or turned. Internal dimensions are approximately 2.83 m long, 2.35 m wide and 2.39 m high for roughly 16 m3 of usable volume, with a marine plywood floor and full-height cargo doors at one end. Because the unit has completed a single loaded voyage from the factory, the paint, gaskets and floor are effectively new. Tare weight is light enough for most site cranes and telehandlers, and both forklift pockets are fitted. Delivered nationwide on kilometre-rated freight from Johannesburg.

The shell is fabricated from Corten A weathering steel — a copper, chromium and nickel alloy that forms a tightly adherent oxide layer instead of the flaking scale you get on mild steel. That patina slows further corrosion, which is why a 25-year-old box can still be structurally sound while a painted mild-steel shed of the same age has perforated.

Side and end panels are 14-gauge (2.0mm) corrugated sheet welded to a rigid frame of rolled top and bottom rails with cast steel corner fittings on the ISO 1161 pattern. Roof panels are 2.0mm with an arch profile that shifts standing water toward the eaves. Flooring is 28mm marine-grade plywood over steel cross-members on nominal 300mm centres, rated for a 7 260 kg forklift axle load.

Expect surface oxidation on used grades: it is cosmetic. We reject units with through-plate pitting, cracked welds at the corner posts, or bowed rails, because those defects affect stacking strength and cannot be repaired economically in the field.
